I just finished cleaning viruses and spyware off the PC, updated to Windows
XP Pro SP2 (from SP1). I went to Windows update and found that all the
critical and security updates I need are 0 bytes long. Is that vapourware ?
If I try to install them the only error message is "updates were unable to
be successfully installed". I have reinstalled IE and run SFC. Any ideas
please ?
AC.

This has worked for others; it seems to be
the magic gesture of the moment:

Thanks for posting a reply. In fact the solution listed
did not work on this occasion. I found that reinstalling
XP did the trick.
