0% - Zero % - Windows Auto-update Status Icon

Windows Autoupdate status icon has been in my system tray for seven days now at same percent.

I'm on broadband (cable), generally pc is used for email and casual web browsing ... left on all day, turned off at night. Certainly not a bandwidth or CPU use thing.

Last night I:
Turned autoupdates OFF,
Rebooted to safe-mode,
Deleteed WindowsUpdate.log,
Restarted,
Turned autoupdates back on

Result of this is that now the icon is not showing up at all in the system tray. Still have not gotten SP2.
