This is a brand new Dell Studio XPS 9000 running Vista Home Premiu
64-Bi
Intel Core i7-950 processor (8MB L3 Cache3.06GHz
9GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MH

It blue screened on the first start up with an error message: "A cloc
interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocate
time interval." It was a 0x00000101 error code with more numbers i
parantheses afterward, but I have managed to lose the rest of th
numbers and the blue screen hasn't reappeared lately

After a few restarts, I was able to load windows, but it would alway
immediately freeze after logging in. It would/will run fine in saf
mode.

After working tirelessly with a few (mostly incompetent) Dell suppor
doing many of the same things over and over again I have:

Reset BIOS to defaults.

Restored the system/Windows to the factory defaults from the har
drive, more than once. This did not help at all

Reformatted and then reinstalled Windows from dvd. This appeared t
help, and things appeared to be working, but now it is continuousl
freezing again, though it is not immediately after log in like it was.
It will run for sometime before freezing. The blue screen error messag
has not reappeared

It has worked enough to get all drivers installed and updated an
windows updated. But the freezing continues very frequently

Some friends seem to think it may be RAM or motherboard related

Any help would be appreciated, and I will provide any more informatio
that is needed/that I am able to

Thanks
