0x52f and LisTool doesn't help!

All my updates fail with 0x52f. I've followed the LISTOOL instructions to
delete the local install source (rebooted, and rerun - no products are then
listed as having a local install). However, rerunning WU (even after a
further reboot) still fails with 0x52f.

(I did originally have a second drive that was probably used for the install
of Office et. al., which has now failed, so I see the link to LIS, but runnin
it hasn't helped!)

Any ideas? I'm going mad!!
