Hi,
I have had this same problem, reading through this post has been very
helpful,l although I did have a little more to do to reach a solution.
Within the registry I found that none of these keys had permissions set for
SYSTEM
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.XSLTemp late.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.XMLSche maCache.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.XMLHTTP .4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.ServerX MLHTTP.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.SAXXMLR eader.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.SAXAttr ibutes.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.MXXMLWr iter.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.MXNames paceManager.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.FreeThr eadedDOMDocument.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.DSOCont rol.4.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.DOMDocu ment.4.0
Once I set the permissions on all of the keys on full control fro SYSTEM the
update installed no problem.
Thanks for your help.
Conor.
