0x8002801D Error Helpppppp

I keep getting this message and don't know what to do and Microsoft still has
not returned my email after a week. Any ideas?

Hi Steve,

Try re-registering the MSXML3.dll file to see if that resolves the problem.
Go to Start>Run and key in:
regsvr32 MSXML3.dll
then click on OK or hit ENTER
Click on OK in the RegSvr32 dialogue box.

A good bit of details on your situation would be helpful to others trying to help you.

Version & service pack level (if any) of your Windows?

Which item(s) were your trying to update? from Windows Update website or Automatic Updates?

Version 5 or Version 6 of Windows Update?

Look at your log file for Windows Update.

Please post an *extract* from it.
Use Notepad or Wordpad and open & look at the Windows Update log file
C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log or C:\WINNT\WindowsUpdate.log

Scroll down all the way. Get / copy / paste (ideally, put into a file & attach in repy ) back here the set of lines for (today's ) the last session.

The more details you provide, the better your chances of getting on-target help.
