0x800401f3 with test client connecting to WSUS

Hi,

I'm currently testing WSUS on my network and i'm trying to get a client
computer to connect to the WSUS server.

this is the log for the client computer. The local policy is set to point at
the web address of the WSUS server and update automatically.

I've been looking at
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window...ed8551033.mspx
and that says if I'm connected to a WSUS server then my updates window will
look different.

It currently looks like the SUS version shown on that link above and when
I've followed that article to update but i'm not sure what could be causing
the 401 error?

I've got BITS 2.0 installed on my client and granted anonymous access to the
server through IIS. Struggling a bit now and wondered if anyone else could
help me out?

Hi,

Please try this on the client computer:

Click Start >> Run >>

Type the follow command in the Open box.
"net.exe stop wuauserv" (w/o quotes)
Press Ok

Repeat the same for the following commands:

regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll
regsvr32.exe wups.dll
regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll
regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll
regsvr32.exe MSXML3.dll
net.exe start wuauserv


If the above didn't work out:

See if reinstalling the Windows Update Agent using the standalone
installer solves the problem.

Download location for WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe

If it says "Install is not needed since Windows Update Agent is
already installed.", run the exe with the command line switch
/wuforce, like this:

WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe /wuforce
