Please (temporarily) change your AU options to prompt for both
download and install.

When you are prompted for download make a note of the downloads
you are being offered. E.g. doubleclick on the AU icon in the notification
area and use the Custom Install option to be shown the list.
The update name may not be capturable. If you prefer you can use the
Details link and then capture some title information from the page you
are shown. E.g. in IE use View Source (Alt-V,c) and then do a find in
Notepad (press F3) for title. Then select the whole Title tag.

An alternative to this approach to documenting what you are seeing
is to use the following GUIDs and searching for a file which contains
them as doublebyte characters. E.g. I found some in
%windir%\SoftwareDistribution\edb.txt
However, to search for one I had to interleave spaces between the
characters of a GUID and to capture their related information you would
have to delete the same spaces (which are actually nulls BTW and just
represented by spaces by Notepad).

Is this your computer or your company's?
If the latter see your administrator.
The code apparently means that the account being used
to do (whatever it's doing) is not sufficiently authorized
to use WMI

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scr...es/wmifaq.mspx

(MSN search for
0x80041003 site:microsoft.com
)

<quote>
0x80041003 (WBEM_E_ACCESS_DENIED)
This typically results when the process trying to access the namespace
does not have the required WMI privileges. The account attempting remote
access should be an administrator on the target computer; in addition,
the account might need to have a specific privilege enabled.
To troubleshoot this error, check the namespace security on the remote
namespace to see the privileges enabled for the account.

Robert,

I solved the problem searching the net a lot to find out this...

Just disabled "protect my product" in Norton Internet Security 2005.
The curious thing is that I have two computers, and "protect my product" is
active within NIS2005 in the other computer with no problems.

I just thought I had to post in case others have the same problem.

Thanks for the reply.
Regards,
l_walker.
