0x80070005 Windows Update Win 2003

Hi everybody. I got a problem updating some servers with Windows 2003
Enterprise Server SP2.
I have to use the web interface at http://www.update.microsoft.com/wind....aspx?ln=en-us

The update process hang while displaying the progress bar and
"Checking for the last updates for your computer"

I've tried:

1) deleting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es
\wuauserv an reinstall the service(and granting full control to
Everybody on the newly created key)

2) deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder (granting full control to
Everybody)

3) Re-registering wuaueng.dll

4) Using the v4 windows update site

Nothing works. What else should i do?

I had already tried to use filemonitor and regmonitor to track access
to reg keys and files, but apparently nothing goes wrong during
update..

Any other ideas?
