Hello,

I have a Web Edition 2003 server that I ran Windows Update on and it
installed SP1 for 2003. I rebooted and have not be able to get windows
update to work since. Here is the message windows update gives:

[Error number: 0x8007000B]
Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the
requested page. You may find the following resources helpful in
resolving the problem:
For self-help options:

Windows Update Response Center

Windows Update Troubleshooter

Windows Update Newsgroups
For assisted support options:

Microsoft Online Assisted Support (no-cost for Windows Update issues)

I have tried downloading SP1 manually and install it but it didnt' make
any changes.

I am using Windows XP SP 2 and receiving this same error. We are in a
corporate environment with @ 400 workstations. This problem pops up randomly
on some machines. I cannot come up with a common thread to aid
troubleshooting. I recently purchased a new Toshiba Laptop with XP SP2 and
from the very start was not able to access the windows update site.

Your help is appreciated.
Danny

My problem turned out to be firewall related. I would say that yours
is as well. I believe with one of the updates microsoft has 2003 and
maybe XP going to a different update server for the updates.

We have not seen the issue since we updated the firewall settings.
