0x8007041D message

Having restored windows after a motherboard failure I tried to sign up for
updates but this failed giving the above error code. This relates to the
installation of Eset Nod32 an antivrus programme. Checked system and this is
not intalled. Anyone got any ideas how to overcome this problem?
