I receive the above error when attempting to access the windows update site.
This is undoubtably linked to the fact that I cannot start the widows update
service.

Attempting to start the windows update service results in the following
error :

Could not start the Automatic Updates service on Local computer.
Error 1083: The executable program that this service is configured to run in
does not implement the service.

I tried re-registering the dll (regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wuauserv.dll) but
I the get another error (the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found).

I don't know if this is the correct way to register this dll, but is seems
right. I'm stuck now, still unable to start the windows update service.. help!

1. Delete Cookie and Temp files

2. Registry "*.dll" files

Regsvr32 wuapi.dll
Regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
Regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
Regsvr32 wucltui.dll
Regsvr32 wups.dll
Regsvr32 wuweb.dll
Regsvr32 winhttp.dll
Regsvr32 wucltui.dll
Regsvr32 jscript.dll

3. Go to the C:\windows\servicepacks\i386 folder to find iuengine.dll. Then
copy it to both C:\windows\system32 and C: \windows\system32\dllcache to
replace the file iuengine.dll.
