0x8007043B Windows update error

My Windows update no longer works. Error 0x8007043b. I recently upgraded from
xp home to pro, It seems like that is when the problems started.
I attemped to add the WUAUSERV and BITS services in the registry as
instructed for this error code. When I open the netsvcs key, I should see
'Value Data' to add WUAUSERV and BITS to the list of services. I have no such
thing as 'Value Data' under the netsvcs key.
Can someone please help?

Hi Mark,

It's not the netsvcs key that you need to modify, but the netsvcs string
value.....single-click on the SvcHost key, then locate the netsvcs string
value in the right-hand pane. Double-click on the netsvcs string value and
you'll see the Value data field.

Thank you very much, this corrected my problem. It was the way that I was
trying to access the netsvcs string value.

You're very welcome :-)

As soon as I saw the "netsvcs" in your post, I recalled having recommended
that page from the Windows Troubleshooter to someone a few weeks back, and
they, too, navigated to the key instead if the string value. They should
more clearly define this in the Troubleshooter, especially when there is
both a key and a string value named netsvcs related to the SvcHost key.
