Iam in the middle of installing sp2 and i get an error saying that setup
cannot copy file userinit.exe then it goes on to say check to see if file is
correct or create a new one ive tried the above this is like the fourth time
this has happened while installing sp2 but it always says a differnet file it
hasn't been the same one yet but its the same error code... so i restart and
my computer crashes and wont boot back up so i gotta reinstall again..its
kinda getting old and if anyone has any information that would be helpful
please share..

Error message during the "Finalizing Installation" phase when you try to upgrade to

Are you referring to WinXP SP2 or SP2 for another application?

If the former:

Why are you installing WinXP SP2 nearly 4 years after its release (e.g., to
be able to install the latest version of iTunes)?

Have you done a /thorough/ check for hijackware before attempting to install
WinXP SP2?
