that error was messing me up, i just want to thank everyone who helped me to
figure out that it was becuase i had a customized boot screen, i have tune up
utilities and i used it to get a different boot screen, all i had to do was
restore the default boot screen.

I had the same problem. After 83 failures, I have finally installed SP2.
