windows update page givig these error.
When I want to set up sp2 from cd it also gives error "set up doesn't
verify integrity of .inf file".
And some microsoft sites saying active X controllers not working on your
computer. What is the problem

Please try the steps here (skip the first part if you have WinXP
because gpedit.msc is not available there):

If that doesn't solve your problem, run a batch file that I have
created that might help out on this problem.

Go to

Look for fixdb.bat under "Error 0x800710D9 Unable to read from
or write to the database". Download and run it.
