I Keep getting this 0x800A0046 when I try to get upates and I've tried
everything in the Knowledge Base and stuff I found in the Newsgroups what
else can I do??

try also, may help

in services.msc locate the bits service ( & auto update service)
look in log on tab, check local system,and make sure the harware pofile is
enable in the lower space. ( try to make service manual)

make sure that you have the permission are set for folders, files:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\bits
