This is the umteenth time I have written about this problem. I have installed
SP2 and it seems to work fine except when I go to Windows update. Update
starts to open and then immediately goes to the error screen. I have tried
every fix suggested and nothing seems to fix this problem. Also I found that
in update if I try update history I also get the same error screen. Is there
anything else I can do or should I just remove SP2 from my computer? It
worked fine without it but I thought that it would be an improvement and
instead I can't update my computer.

Same problem with me. I even reloaded/reinstalled Windows XP Software (what a
pain) and problem persists. I emailed Microsoft, but no answer(s). Maybe
they are on holiday.
