0x800c0008 creative work around

I cannot get windows updates for 2003 because of this error. Basically
my ie will dies on https pages. I have some great ppl trying to help
me fix that in another thread.

As a "creative" workaround is there anyway for me to download windows
updates to my local machine and run without using ie? I havent had a
live update since dec and would like to avoid flatting my machine just
because I cant get updates.

All my other browsers handle https fine its just ie. A link would be
great.

You could try downloading the updates from the catalog and then installing

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want,
Click the "Go To Download Basket" link. Type in or browse to the location where you
want the updates saved to and then Click the "Download Now" button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.

If you can't get to the catalog because of IE, try:-
Search for a download
