Yes yes MS did this to me with one of their updates... It cannot be
rolled back from what I understand.

My ie6 certs r hosed. I cant connect with ie6 to log into hotmail,
gmail, windows live updates... you name it https is scrambled.

I have tried reinstalling the certs (trusted root authorities). Dumped
the cache, ssl 2 & 3 enabled... check for revocation disabled.

Anyone have a clue how to restore https for ie6 after the MS shaft?

6.0.3790.0

O yea, lang is set to english and tied to get the ie updates but says a
newer version is installed on my machine.

Have run antivirus and have firewall (norton) no spyware ect. keep a
clean box.

Start here:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/0x800c0005.htm

Otherwise post back with details such as specific update installed,
operating system etc.
You said a lot but nothing that is really meaningful.

Yea took a peak, have done all that, been there.

I know what the problem is I just dont know how to fix it.

The problem is the certs in my ie browser are hosed. HTTPS is not ava
from ie.

I think, and im no MS guru that verisigns nolibilty and and another
critical cert is screwed.

Its on MS website that hosed certs downs ie. MY QUESTION IS how do I
fix it?

It would be nice to be able to do an https

Perhaps someone can understand this, but not me.
You may be better off taking your computer to a reputable computer tech.

server 2003. .... cant tell you the specific update Im used to trusting
MS updates...

The update was in Nov or Dec to fix a security problem with ssl and ie.

verisign no liability (timestamp) for windows cert is hosed.... that is
to say even thought a certificate is out of date it can still be
used.... my certificate says the path is off or its not active so I
cant even override a bad date.

Threw my googling I have found that there is another cert that MS
updates depends on. sorry will have to look it up again but its giving
me the same crap as the time stamp.

O you will love this tried to go to verisign to update the time cert
but your browser must support https to get it.... course since my ie is
hosed on https couldnt update

I work for a software company. Yes your right sometimes its easier to
flatten the machine than to find out how to fix it.
