.. What is the KB###### of the specific update?
.. What operating system/edition/service pack level is this all happening on?

Help those here help you by realizing that those here probably currently
have not seen your computer screen, have not been privy to what you have
tried, have not seen and recorded the error messages you see on your screen,
have not checked what version/edition of Windows you are running, etc. The
more actual pertinent details you provide, the more likely someone will be
able to assist you in a way you will understand/be able to follow.
