This drove me nuts for quite a bit. Tried all the suggested fixes to no
avail. Alittle backgroung may be in order:
I am on Hughes.net satellite (former Direcway) and I am used to the dance
you have to do to get update to work, or so I thought. I could not get by
error 0x8024402C. Put the sites in the trusted zone, etc. to no avail. Used
proxycfg, to no avail. Finally used an additional DNS server and got by this
error only to get error 0x80240030. I finally removed everything from the
trusted zone and from the proxy exceptions except HTTPS and got it to work. I
am now updated
