Intel Celeron D 2,53GHz (also a Prescott-Core!)
248MB RAM
Intel 82845G Graphics Controller

I just wanted to add that with my other pc - an AMD - this error does not
occur (and i've run winupdate at nearly the same time on both pc's, so it
cannot be a server problem... though I wish it would be one!)

I have the same error since yesterday.
It seems to be an early problem with prescott CPUs cause WU worked fine 3
weeks ago.
My system:
ASUS P4C800E Deluxe
CPU P4 3.2 Prescott
2Gb Ram
Some help from microsoft and/or intel would be much appreciated.

Point me with same problem using 4 diferent equipments

a toshiba notebook
1 Intel P4 3,0
2 celeron D

this ocurs in a new instalation of windows xp with sp1 and installing sp2
after (nothing else).
I'm installing on my clients the portuguese version of XP.

tried many suggested things on the net: with no solution
add microsoft sites to my trust list
regsvr32 several files as explained by several information
clear temporary ie files and cookies

Any help ?
