0x8DDD0004 - Fixed Mine!

I've got SP1 and the same problem. Is there a solution ?

Suggestions....

Make sure your firewall is not blocking. (trun it off for a test)
turn off any popup, web filters etc.

In IE tools\manage add-ons ( if available) make sure that
WuWebControlClass is activated
(activeX control are also found in c:\windows\Downloaded Program Files look
there for anything corrupted)

register these files

REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuapi.dll
REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuaueng.dll
REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\atl.dll
REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wucltui.dll
REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wups.dll

Remove the Windows Update ActiveX controls and re-install
