Ahh, this is what I got starting ater some recent updates and possibly
service pack 2.
I have now spent three solid days non stop, with 8 hours sleep in between it
all.
Most of that time on the phone with MS and a lot on hold.
There is NO solution and the only way my machine can run now is without SP2.
I am extremely ****ed, as I had this week off to catch up work I couldn't do
for two years now, and it's all lost thanks to this BS.
Before anyone says "SPYWARE", I run 5 spyware detectors, virus protection
and firewalls, not to mention hardware protection.
Yes, I tried updating with these disabled.
Now when I install SP2, the machine runs like it's in pio mode, nothing
works.
My support call is now going to an engineer, but my appointment is not until
1/2/05.
By the way, you won't be able to update or install any software as things
are.
