1) 'Install ActiveX Control' no appear 2) Manual update failed

Hi all,

Need help on 2 issues:
1) 'Install ActiveX Control' information bar does not appear.

2) Manual update thru 'Help and Support Center' but failed. Error Code:
0x80070057, 0x80070003

How can I resolve abv mentioned issues? Kindly advice.

1) If Internet Explorer default settings are on, you'll see the Information Bar when a Web
site tries to:. Install an ActiveX control on your computer.

. Open a pop-up window.

. Download a file to your computer.



2) Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder

Click Start, Choose Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Stop.
Stopping the service will take a moment.

Rename the "SoftwareDistribution" folder: a. Click Start, click Run, type %systemroot%,
and then click OK.
b. Right-click the SoftwareDistribution folder, and then click Rename.
c. Type SoftwareDistribution.old, and then press ENTER to rename this folder.

Click Start. Choose Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Start.
Starting the service will take a moment.
