The 1% Logical Fallacy

Many Micro$lut fanboys keep ranting and raving about how the fact that
Linux has less than 1% of the market share therefore means that Linux is
a crappy OS.

Not true and that's a logical fallacy.

Examples:

Rolls Royce has less than 1% of the car market but that doesn't make the
Rolls a bad car.

Alienware has less than 1% of the computer market but that doesn't make
Alienware a bad computer.

Private planes have less than 1% of the market but that doesn't mean
owning a private plane is a bad thing.

Less than 1% of the men in the world are married to a beautiful woman
but that doesn't necessarily mean that being married to a beautiful
woman is a bad thing.

Less than 1% of the American public knows how to wind surf. That doesn't
mean that wind surfing is a bad thing.

So, the next time you fanboys and girls think you are proving something
with your 1% trip, think again because the main reason Ubuntu is less
than 1% is because most people have never heard of it not because it's a
bad OS.

Could you imagine if Rolls Royce was FREE and still had less than 1% of the
market? That would make the product a piece of Crap. Ubuntu is FREE and
Ubuntu has less than 1% of the market. Ubuntu has been FREE for years. If
the product was good, word of mouth would spread like wildfire and EVERYBODY
would be using it. Users would ditch Windows like a cheap suit. Guess
what? They don't ditch Windows. Ubuntu is crap and EVERYBODY knows it
(Except Alias) What a fool.

Quite a few beautiful women know they are beautiful and also have low self
asteem. Quite a few beautiful women use their beauty to drain men of all
their assets. Come to think of it, Ubuntu is FREE and Ubuntu will drain
your time with that piece of **** OS.

Just think how many Americans would wind surf if there was an announcement
that Wind Surfing and the product to allow you to windsurf was FREE. The
number would jump very high very fast. Now imagine if Ubuntu was FREE
(oops, I think it is) and just think how many people still think Ubuntu is a
piece of ****?

Yawn. I've already replied to your lame points. You obviously don't know
what you're talking about but what else is new?

You keep trying to push your crappy OS but I have news for you. NOBODY
wants Ubuntu or Linux. Especially here in vista land.

Get over it.

You think that because 10 million users have downloaded Ubuntu, there are 10
million copies running. That is far from the truth. Out of those 10
million downloads, maybe 100,000 are activly using it on the desktop.

The figure comes from Net usage, dimwit.

I have a copy of Vista on the shelf that was once installed and
activated but I can't be counted as a Vista user although I am sure I am.

and how do they figure that one out? Since there is no activation, sounds
like a snow job.
