16 bit colour

Hi
Can you please help? I had a 32 bit colour on my computer, but my son
messed up all the settings on my computer (not the colour), so I re-installed
windows 2000. Now I only have 16 bit colour on my desktop, its really crap
and hurts your eyes after a while.
I have tried changing the resolution, but even that has not helped.
Has anyone got any suggestions?

Go to the website of the video card/computer manufacturer and get the latest
Windows XP video driver

Re-load your video card drivers from the original disk.
