I checked my performance and noticed only 1GB of Ram was being recognized. I
am running XP on the same computer and 2 GB is showing so something is wrong.
I rereshed twice to same results. Anyone have simular results, or any
ideas? Thanks

It could be that your motherboard doesn't support the RAM configuration so
only sees half of each stick.

You need to use an application to ID the DIMMS, such as Lavalys Everest and
check what it reports them as (the model, not the capacity) against the
manufacturers site.

Also check that the sticks are firmly in their slots plus if you have 2
sticks and 4 slots then they should be in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, so that
they are "paired".

Did you miss the part where he said "I am running XP on the same computer
and 2 GB is showing".
That indicates the RAM is supported and properly installed.

As I only just downloaded messages from that day the previous ones had been
deleted from my machine & if people would include the message in their reply
then the original meesage may not get lost........
No I didn't read that, was only trying to be helpful as per the header.
