I have the option to either use a WiFi or wired connection. When I'm
moving large files through my local network I would prefer to use the
wired connection. How do I configure my network cards so when I attach
the network cable to the laptop this connection is automatically
selected? On my XP machine I've seen an option to prioritize one
connection over the other one. Not sure if this would give me the
effect I want because I have only wired NIC in it so couln't test it.
Is there anything similar in Vista?

Found it. You do it exactly like in XP but to get the Advanced
Settings for network connection
you need to press the ALT key.
