I recently bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium installed. A few days
after I had it set up I would come over to use the computer and find it is
off, when I turn it on I get the "windows did not shut down properly....start
normally or use safe mode" screen. In the event viewer I get the event id
6008 each time this happened but I can't find any good info on why this is
happening. I called the place I bought it from and they replaced it with a
brand new one, same thing happened on the new one, was sent a blank harddrive
to try and this also would shut off all the time.

I went to Bestbuy and looked in the event viewer on thier laptops and saw
the 6008 error in almost all of them. Is this a known problem with Vista?
What can I do to correct it?

Event ID 6008

Shut down of computer is not done correctly. It usually (almost all the time ) means a hard shutdown.

This is a known problem with the user and their hand and not with Vista

Do not close switch on computer before the shutdown process does it's job

So why didn't you bother to answer the op's question?
Oh, I forgot, you're nothing but an arrogant lying linux troll.
You don't have, nor can a broke lying loser like you afford to purchase
Vista.
You're lying, broke and stupid!...LOL!
Nice combo huh?...LOL!

It's not from my hand or closing the computer while shutting down because
this happens most of the time when the computer is sitting there in sleep
waiting to be used with the screen upright. I've disabled all
sleep/hibernation/etc and it still does it. I have had it shut down in the
middle of watching a video on youtube and in the middle of installing a
printer.

let's try to stay on topic here. Believe me I have googled this problem over
and over again and aside from a 13 page message board post with no solution I
have found nothing that helps

Event ID 6008 is unexpectedly logged to the System event log
after you shut down and restart your computer:

You're the hot shot with 18 Ultimate Vista installs and self proclaimed
expert. You answer the OP why Vista doesn't work on his laptops. Can you
do it, little boy?
