2003 Office Update

Hi
I have tried to install SP2 office updates.
It keeps failing and when I click the failed icon to find out how to solve
the problem. it will not open so I cannot see any error code.
I would really appreciate any advice on how to solve this particular problem
or why Office 2003 will not install.

I have the same problem. I tried to install the Update (Office 2003 SP2) from
my Office 2003 SP1 bit it fails... I tried many times but I have received
"failed" message. How to solve this problems. BTW, I installed SP2 updates
for Visio, Project successfully

Same here
mine failed with Installation Failure

Error Code: 0x51F
tried it from both Microsoft Update and Automatic Download point of view

Double-click the Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU.exe at the very bottom
of the page.

This will install the update properly.

Me too,

Failed to install, will try full install. This is a pain!! I have three home
computers and they all punked because of update.

Thanks, G4E. Your link worked. Had to download a huge file, then find my
original Office CD but all in all, only took about 20 minutes of my time for
a process that is supposed to be "automatic". Microsoft wins again!!!

Be aware that the update failure also damages various MS products (in my case
Excel) and the original installation CD is required to fix these.

In short, DO NOT INSTALL Office 2003 SP 2 unless you have the installation
CD handy. The download referenced by G4E may help if you have already made
this error, but the download server is overwhelmed at this time.
