2008 DNS servers

Hello

In a windows 2008 AD\DNS server what is the differenc between setting DNS
scaveging at the DNS server level or the zone level? Right now i have
scaveging set at the zone level not the server level

Server Properties -> Advanced -> Enable automatic scavenging of stale
records

This is the automatic process, without this scavenging will only
occur if you right click on the server and start it manually.

This comes with a Scavenging Period, how frequently you would like it
to run.

Right click on Server -> Set Aging/Scavenging for All Zones...

As the title suggests, updates the values for all zones on the server.

Enabling automatic scavenging is important if you want the system to
look after itself. The second option is redundant if you have already
configured aging on each zone.
