With the new and advanced Panasonic HDC-HS700 full HD camcorder, you can store videos on the 240GB HDD or SD card. With the quick press on the 50p button or 60p button on the camcorder, the camcorder will start recording 28Mbps HD videos in .mts file extension. The button will be marked as 50p for European or non-US model, and the 60p for America.

You may find the great quality on the camcorder with the advanced recording mode, but the non-AVCHD compliant file could not be imported to Final Cut Express 4 with the log and transfer method. It is recommended that you use Panasonic HS700 MTS Converter for your Mac computer to make it easy for editing with FCE 4.

Here I would demonstrate the way to download videos from HS700 to iMac and convert 1080/60p MTS to MOV for FCE 4 with Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.

Step 1. Download Panasonic HS700 MTS to Mac computer.
Connect Panasonic HDC-HS700K camcorder to iMac with USB 2.0 cable, and iMac will show the camcorder as external device with name "CAM-MEM" on desktop. Open the folder and go to AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM, you will find the .mts files. Copy and paste the .mts files to your iMac hard disk drive to download the videos.

Step 2. Load Panasonic HS700 videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
Run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the best Mac Panasonic MTS converter, and then click the "Add" button to load .mts files, or drag and drop the .mts file to the application UI.

Step 3. Choose MOV format with 5.1 channels
Click the "Format" option, and navigate the mouse cursor to Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MOV (AVC)(*.mov) as output format. The Panasonic AVCHD converter will transcode HS700 1080/60p MTS to MOV for FCE with H.264 as video codec, keeping the 5.1-channel surround sound.

Step 4. Convert Panasonic HS700 MTS to MOV for FCE.
Click the convert button on the bottom-right corner, and the HS700 MTS to FCE converter will start converting 1080/60p MTS videos to MOV with 5.1-channel audio.

When the conversion is done in batch, it is as easy as loading QuickTime videos to Final Cut Express 4.

Tips:
If you are using Panasonic HDC-TM700/SD700, HDC-SD600, HDC-TM300, Lumix DMC-ZS7/TZ10, DMC-ZS3, you may also go to Panasonic camcorder column for more information and alternative solutions.
