I just noticed messages as shown in the Subject above. I click it but
nothing happens. Does that mean it is a false warning so that I do not
worry about it?

Unless you activate Vista within the alloted time, it will stop working...

That's encouraging. How many WPA/WGA hoops does have to jump through
before one can use what one paid for?

Right click on Computer and select Properties. That gives you the System
information page. Scroll to the bottom (left) and there should be a link
for activating. Use it. If you installed Vista without entering a product
key, the wizard will ask for it now.

I don't think you have a pre-release copy of SP1 installed because the
message is wrong for that but that deadline is very close (three days) and
some replying here may suggest that.

That is exactly where the message is shown. The OS was installed looong
time ago and was immediately activated at that time. I do not have any
idea why the message is. If reactivation is required for any reason I
can do so but how?

It should give you a telephone number.

Like I said, click on the activation link on the System information page
(right click on Computer and choose Properties or use WinKey+Pause/Break).
If it shows Windows Is Activated, post back because there would be a
different problem. While you are at it type 'winver' and check for any
expiration date there.

If internet activation fails choose the phone option and keep the activation
window open. It contains codes you will need to read to the activation
agent.

No, it does not. I click on "Activate Windows now" which appears to be a
link, but nothing happens.

May I ask what does this command does, especially -ato does?
