If this is the wrong newsgroup for this question let me know.

I have SA on a customers Server running SBS2003 premium. With that package
comes the 2nd install of Server 2008 on another machine.

Do you have to actually do the upgrade to SBS2008 before you can use that
2nd copy of Server 08 or can you go ahead and load it on another computer and
join it to the existing SBS2003 domain?

You are only legal for it when you upgrade to SBS 2008.

Thanks Susan.

I have a customer that I need to get in a temporary 2008 box to run a test
inside of his SBS2003 domain. I can't take a shop machine in since all of my
shop equipment is run under my Technet and Action Pack subscriptions.

Would it be "legal" to use a the 30 day eval copy of Server2008 for a short
term experiment?
