2PCs - 1 HTC SYnc creates duplicates

PC1 - XP-SP3 - Home
PC2 - XP-SP3 - Work
HTC Excalibur (T-Mobile DASH) - WM6.
M$ Outlook 2007
ActiveSync 4.5

All I want is to sync the 3. And only Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks.
That's it. I keep my business email completely separate. Exchange at
work, POP at home.

Instead I sync the Dash to PC1. PC1 overwrites DASH's data. Take the
phone to the office... PC2 overwrites the DASH's data. Now I look at
the data and instead of having the 3 synced together, I have 1344
contacts, instead of approx. 700 and triplicate and quadruplicate
calendar entries, expecially of recurring events. Categories get
overwritten.

What's the soluton? Is this too much to ask? This Sisyphean task is
driving my bonkers. I could do what I needed with my old Palm OS and a
third-party software. Why not with WM?

Has anyone found a reasonable solution/software?

TIA

AJR

Download DupedeDupe from
http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket...cate-contacts/ to remove the duplicates.

Using HTC Sync 3.0.551 (previously 3.0.517)
Android 2.3.3
HTC DESIRE S
Ongoing problems with 2 or 3 duplicates after syncing with Outlook 2003.
After trying numerous solutions for 3 days I finally came up with the following. Hope it works for you too.
I sorted and cleaned my contacts so no duplicates.
Open HTC Sync, go to People there is an option button.
Click this - UNCHECK "use default folder"
then select the folder to Sync,-> Select Personal folders->Contacts. Click OK.
Do this for both Calendar and Contacts.
This seems to have solved the problem.

PROBLEM DISCUSSION:
HTC Sync syncs with all folders in Outlook. Many people have Archive folders and other folders within Outlook. HTC Sync would look at all the Contact folders and grab all that data, hence duplicates (in my case often 3 copies of each). When it synced this data would end up back in the main file - Contacts - Personal folders.
HTC SUGGESTED SOLUTION.
HTC to change software so that HTC Sync defaults to only on folder - the primary source, i.e. Contacts and Calendar in "Personal Folders"

Suggest an instruction manual would be a good idea too.
Good luck
