Considering I didn't say Ubuntu was free of any vulnerability ...

So use Ubuntu.

And the last one listed for Windows is yesterday too. Big deal. It's kind
of hard to accurately count these for any OS w/o spending a lot of time,
since many are in 3rd party s/w and listed under the O/S the s/w runs on.

Except that Linux distro's share many of the same components, so many of
those vulnerabilities are listed multiple times, once for Ubuntu, once
for Redhat, once for Gentoo, etc.

But let's get realistic here.......almost all of these vulnerabilities,
on their own, is fairly insignificant if there isn't some process running
that takes advantage of them.

This process would typically some form of virus, worm, trojan, or
malware, of which we all know is 99.99~% most likely a Windows system.
And, they don't even need to exploit some security 'hole' even.

If you go back to that web page you cited and look at the malware
warnings...

http://www.vupen.com/english/malware-advisories/

....you would see that since Jan 1, 2009, around 450 new malware packages
have been identified....for Windows.

This is, by far, the biggest problem.

The Internet would be a much safer place if there was no threat of a
website silently installing s/w on a PC just by visiting it.

Of course it couldn't happen with Ubuntu. Ubuntu doesn't have but a few
hundred thousand users worldwide. Even though you say that 10 million are
using Ubuntu, you are so full of ****. Maybe over the last 10 years, 10
million have downloaded Ubuntu, but MOST have ditched that crappy OS because
it isn't worth 2 Euros.

Feel better now?
