Is there a fix for Vista that will allow 32 bit games to play on 64 bit? Most
of the games i have are old and only run on the 32 bit.

Hi,

Vista x64 runs 32-bit games in a 32-bit WoW layer designed expressly for
this. The only ones you might not be able to run are those few that use a
device driver, in which case it would have to be explicitly written for x64.

I haven't found a single x32 game that won't run on x64. If you are
running an older game you may have to run it in Windows 95 or Windows
XP compatibility mode. (Had to do this for Planetside). Just
right-click and under properties try different configurations until you
get one that works for you.

Are you talking about really old DOS games? They will not work on Vista64.

If they're DOS games. they're only 16-bit. You'll need a Virtual Machine or
DOSBox to run them.

Dosbox runs old DOS games on Vista 64. To test it I ran
Wolfenstein3d on Vista 64. Slightly blocky, but it actually
looks good on a 22" widescreen LCD. Wolf3d uses direct
hardware access for sound, but Dosbox takes care of that
perfectly.
