3c905b driver update fails to install

3Com 3c905b-tx NIC not working under Vista RC1. Using dialup, I go to Windows
Update. It recommends updating the driver for that card. It downloads the
file, but when it tries to install it, it fails giving me the code 80070103.
I can't seem to find the solution to this problem. I have disabled
anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall. No change. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you asked about this in the betaware vista group?
Are you saying you have downloaded/tried to download a driver for a
non-microsoft item? From the maker of this item or microsoft's driver. The
former I hope.

I have not posted this in the betaware vista group. I will do that. This is a
driver being provided by Microsoft for a network card so that it will work
with Vista RC1. 3Com, the manufacturer of the card, does not support Vista
nor does it provide any Vista drivers.

Well nobody else has come back to you, so I would say the vista group is
your best chance.
The driver compatability issue with vista will I think, come to light more
on the launch of vista.
There are, I believe some drivers for vista, but they of course are beta.
