3Com 10/100 Mini PCI Ethernet Adapter Update

Each time the Microsoft Update downloads "3Com 10/100 Mini PCI Ethernet
Adapter Update" I get a message that it failed.
I am using Windows 2000 Professional SP4.
Why won't it download? and how can I overcome this?

If the card works, you don't NEED the update. In fact, most people
recommend NEVER getting a driver update from windows update. Best thing
you can do, is to click on the box with the + sign in it, and then
check the box that says "don't show this update again".
