Hello, I'v recently had to rebuild one of two cluster nodes. The cluster
supports a resource, a drive that is a bit larger then 4TB. The node that
was not rebuilt is able to host this 4TB resource. I believe the person that
configured this 4TB resouce in this cluster did something to allow this size
of disk to be usable within the cluster. That is, I am unable to fail the
cluster group over to the rebuilt node - does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks in advanced.

You need the following hotfix, or Windows 2008:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919117

hmmm, no luck. keep getting event id 1034: The disk associated with cluster
disk resource 'Diamond Physical Disk R:' could not be found. The expected
signature of the disk was 0233AB14. If the disk was removed from the server
cluster, the resource should be deleted. If the disk was replaced, the
resource must be deleted and created again in order to bring the disk online.
If the disk has not been removed or replaced, it may be inaccessible at this
time because it is reserved by another server cluster node.

Is this 2003 or 2008? Either way, I'd check and make sure that the LUN in
question is properly presented (zoned/masked) to the rebuilt node.

Yes, 2003. I know that that it is zoned properly because it was working
before i rebuilt Node 1. Also, when i take the group offline I am able to
browse the drive from Node 1.

I am using two different multi-path drivers one each node - but not sure if
that should matter.

If you can still see and access the disk with the resource offline in
Cluster Administrator, the disk signature may have changed. I find it odd
that the resource would come online though on one node and not the other.
When you offline that resource in Cluster Administrator, do you lose access
to any other disks? Check the HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Clusdisk\Parameters\
key and see if you have any signatures listed under \AvailableDisks\. Then
use dumpcfg.exe to examine the signature of the disk in question and see if
it's possible the signature changed.
