5.1 Sound Problem

Hi Guys,

I am running a Vista Home Premium SP1 machine with a Creative Labs
Soundblaster Audigy sound card but cannot get 5.1 sound.

I get audio from my front left, front right, back left and back right
speakers but nothing from the centre speaker and sub.

I have installed the latest drivers from support.creative.com (released 17
July 2008) and I have used older drivers just in case.

The Creative Audio Console is set to 5.1 speakers as is the speaker
configuration in Windows (which, when running the sound test, doesn't play
through the centre speaker and sub).

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Funny, I had/have the same problem. Funny because I run Win XP Pro SP3 and
Vista/Ult. Beautiful 5.1 sound with XP - zilch with Vista. Good luck on
finding a solution.

Something else I've just noticed, when the Creative Audio Console is set to 2
speaker configuration the windows speaker setup test plays audio through all
speakers including the sub yet when the audio console is set to 5.1 speakers
the centre speaker and sub do not work!

Do you have a digital 5.1 source and then a decoder for the Dolby, DTS or
whatever from that source?
