I am hoping someone can help me. Since Wednesday, my brand new HP Vista PC
has been virtually unusable. I have narrowed the issue down to the Windows
Update service, as it is taking 100% of the CPU anytime windows update runs.
I have to kill off the Windows update service when/if I can get to task
manager in order to be able to do anything. I have attempted to install the
windows update software from some download sites, but I am continually
getting the same issue as soon as I attempt to run Windows Update again.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 on an HP 6835 Pavillion Laptop
that came preinstalled with Vista and SP1.

Thanks in advance...

Desperate in Wisconsin.....
