The problem is that IE still shows that annoying information bar.

What do you mean by your question? Bother versions of IE are
automatically installed in all 64-bit versions of Windows; the 32-bit is
just 'Internet Explorer' and the 64-bit is 'Internet Explorer (64-bit)'
so they have "different" names from the get-go! Look on your Start Menu
and you will see them listed.

Hi, Scott.

As Bobby said, if you have 64-bit Windows, Vista or Win7, then you already
have BOTH versions of IE (7 or 8) installed.

You should find them at:
32-bit version: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
64-bit version: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

Just click on the one you want. Or create a shortcut or pin to your Taskbar
or...whatever.

Unless you change things, IE will default to the 32-bit version. By
default, they both use the same icon and program name, so you'll have to
edit these to be able to easily tell the difference.

To see which one you are currently running, click Help | About Internet
Explorer, as usual. If it is 64-bit, it will say "64-bit Edition" on the
"Version" line; the 32-bit version doesn't even mention "bitness".

64-bit software whether operating systems or applications or browsers
tastes better, smells better, it's like napalm in the morning. You
should use it because it's the future, and if your still using that
32-bit crap you might as well die now.

Put a lid on it, Henry.
