Before you take the leap, you should seriously research the possible
compatibility issues you might experience with it.

Describe your hardware configuration here.
Also bear in the mind the possibility that you may not be able to find
64-bit drivers for things like any scanner and printers you use,
especially if they are a few years old.
Why do you want to run the 64-bit version? It has two *possible*
advantages for you:
1. Better performance, but mostly only if you run 64-bit applications.
Since there are very few 64-bit applications available yet, improved
performance is more of a potential advantage than a current one.
2. It can use more than the (approx.) 3.1GB of RAM that 32-bit Vista
can. However, few people can make effective use of more that 3GB of
RAM. Unless you run particularly memory-hungry programs, like
video-editing or photo-editing, this won't mean much to you either.
