Hi,
I am planning on upgrading my computer so that I have new hardware etc - new
Motherboard CPU Graphics Memory etc as it is old and can only just run vista
with aero. I was wondering if anyone knew for certain that I can run my
32-bit windows vista with a 64-bit CPU? I don't want to upgrade vista, as
that will cost another £60/70, but you cant seem to get 32-bit cpu's anymore.
Sorry if this sounds confusing!
Also would I have to re-activate vista etc?

Many Thanks
Pete

Hello,

* yes, you will have to reactivate.
* yes, your 32-bit Windows will run on 64-bit CPU.

Vista should be able to work without problems after the upgrade (I did the same and it worked fine).

The 32 bit vista should run on a 64 bit cpu. If you'd really like to try
out a 64 bit OS without incurring additional cost, you might try one of
the many Linux distributions which have supported 64 bit processors for
some time now.
