Motherboard: Asus M2N-E (nForce 570 Ultra)

Total DDR2-800 RAM = 2x1+2x2G = 6G

However, 64-bit Vi$ta reports only 5.6G. Why? Do I need a memory patch?

Hi,

No patch necessary (not that there is one), you likely have shared video
memory.

I don't see any memory remap function in the BIOS.... how's it called by
Nvidia?

You'd waste your money.

If it's shared video, then it'd report 7.6GB instead of 5.6GB. The max
memory in the M2N-E is 8GB, and you may also need to map around the memory
hole if it's not shared.

Because you have video support on the motherboard instead of a
separate video card, some of your RAM is being used for video support
and isn't directly available to Windows.

I am using a 8600GT display card, and as far as a I know, M2N-E doesn't
have on-board video. So is there a way to release that 512M RAM?

Can't see anything related to "remap" in BIOS screen....
