are KB936782,953838,951066,952287,951072,890830,950974 .
iI am running Xp, and the SP3 updated fine.... not sure where to turn
to...any help would be greatly appreciated.

What error messages did you recieve?
What error message reside in the log files? These files are located in
\Windows\System32 as kbxxxxxx.log where xxxxxx is the update number.
If you have AV software installed, and you most assuredly should, then it
might help to disable the software until after the updates complete.

I'm not a complete novice... but I'm working with a similar machine and I
noticed that recent attempts at applying (what I think is probably) the same
updates has failed on multiple occasions. I haven't checked the KB… numbers
yet, but it's probably the same ones.

And while I'm not exactly a novice, I have no clue as to why this happening
or what to do about it. I sure hope someone else (with a clue) will chime
in, out of the kindness of their heart and share a little insight regarding
how to proceed.

I have a similar problem, multiple updates fail to install, same numbers as
what you have, plus a few more.

Looked up in the log files and the error codes are 0xf201,

Error log pasted in, this was a particularly short one:

0.859: Hotfix started with following command line: /si
/ParentInfo:c180a51855f6ed448fb5f817788c0956
0.859: In Function GetReleaseSet, line 1240, RegQueryValueEx failed with
error 0x2
0.859: FileVersion of C:\Program Files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe is
Less Than 7.0.0.0
0.859: Condition succeeded for section Test.IE7InstallBlock.Section in Line
1 of PreRequisite
1.156: DoInstallation: CleanPFR failed: 0x2
1.156: In Function GetReleaseSet, line 1240, RegQueryValueEx failed with
error 0x2
1.156: SetProductTypes: InfProductBuildType=BuildType.IC
1.188: SetAltOsLoaderPath: No section uses DirId 65701; done.
1.234: Express: 746,733 bytes were downloaded.
2.672: [PatchFilesFromResponseBlob] returning STATUS_READY_TO_INSTALL
2.750: KB953838 installation did not complete.
2.750: Update.exe extended error code = 0xf201

Any ideas, i hope this is the same issue?

I have 6 of stevie's 7... all except KB936782... plus the following:
--------------
KB946648
KB952954
KB953839

My time and access to the computer in question is limited; I haven't yet
been able to look for log files... but should get to that soon.
