8.0.0689 Beta does not remember selected background

Using 8.0.0689 Beta

When I select a background and make it the default, the background will go
away after I reboot XP.

Tha blank background would become the default every time after reboot.

If I want my own background, I have to select it every day after I start my
computer. Is it a bug?

I have the same problem, it seems quite likely to be a bug
